BM gift movie night basket

I keep going back and forth on what I want to get the girls.  I have 6 BM so the cost adds up fast.  I was thinking of doing a movie night basket where I could give them a dvd, chocolate, popcorn, blanket and wine.  (If anyone has anyother ideas of what to add to it, it would be appreciated).  But then I think will this be appreciated as much as I think it will be.  Then I think about doing a gift certificate to a spa with a bottle of wine and chocolate or a gift certificate to a restaurant along with a bottle of wine and chocolate.  I guess what my question is what would you like and has anyone ever received a movie gift basket?  Did you like it or were you like whatever??  I am also making them each a charm bracelet that will be personalized to the BM.

  • Why don't you make each basket a little different? You can theme each one based on what each girl likes.

For a movie basket you can throw in a gift card to a movie theater, some popcorn, candy, what ever.

For a spa basket you can do a facial scrub, some nail polish, lotion, one of those face masks you freeze...

You can do another basket with a blanket, wine and dvd, etc

What other things are your girls into?

  • I love gift baskets! I like the movie basket idea - I'd give them each a different dvd so (assuming they're all friends with each other, as well) you'll all get to see a bunch of different movies.

I've also done dinner themed baskets, with all the ingredients for a gourmet pasta dinner, or soup baskets with lots of ingredients to make soup.

  • I love gift baskets too!  The first Christmas I spent w/my DH's family I made his parents a movie night gift basket.  You could also do a baking basket: include ingredients to make cookies/breads/cupcakes with some fun utensils, cupcake liners and cookie cutters?  Those are things that I wouldn't buy myself, but would be fun to have.
  • I love the gift basket idea. Why don't you make the basket geared to the individual, something she may like? Don't do the same theme for each girl.

  • For the girl who bakes, you can try a baking cookbook, fun cookie cutters... wander around BBB for some little baking gadgets she might like. I saw a cupcake filling dispenser last time I was there. When I was at Party City I saw some gourmet flavored sprinkles by Duff from Ace of Cakes. For the girl who is into reading, try an Amazon gift card for her kindle, a kindle e-reader light, maybe some of those comfy, fuzzy socks, a snuggie(?)... For the girl who is also into animals, maybe, I dunno, a box of animal crackers or something? lol be creative!

For the new mom, think about little treats for her.  A GC for pedi/mani, maybe some gourmet coffee and a new travel coffee mug so she can sip at it off and on while she's busy with the baby but it will be warm for awhile.  Plus, there's the no spill bonus ;-)  Her favorite candy/chocolate and maybe some bath salts. Bath and Body Works might be a good place to look around for her.  Oh, and if she's not a bath person or can't take the time to soak, B&BW has some awesome sugar scrub that you can use on elbows and hands, too.  She can treat herself to a quick scrub for 5 minutes and feel a bit refreshed.  And this part kind of sounds cheesy but a "coupon" or whatever for you to watch the little one while she gets her pedi/mani.  If you're comfortable watching kids, that is. =-)
