Registering for outdoor items?

My fiance and I currently share an apartment.  We plan to buy a house the summer after our April 2010 wedding. Is it inappropriate to register for outdoor/patio/gardening items when we wouldn't be able to use them until we move to a house?

Re: Registering for outdoor items?

  • I dont think so I think you should def. register for anything you know you want and need. If most of your family and friends know your plan to buy a house than they will know you will need it! =] My FI and I live in an apt. right now and we registered for things that we currently are sharing with his brother who is our roomate for the time being- but we will need them when we move in a few months. Plus- people register for things they already have...towels? sheets? etc.. people have those when they register they just want new ones! hahabest of luck- you should pick anything you wnat to  !
  • FI registered for things for the grill. I've seen lots of registeries with outdoor items on them- hoses, shovels, etc. I think it would be okay.
  • we registered for a tent and camping supplies, a grill set etc.  The registry is a wish list, not a set in stone "you must buy me this" list. That being said; if you arent even going to look for a house until after the wedding then I'd hold off on the outdoor things, I wouldnt want to register for patio furniture etc unless I knew waht kind of outdoor space I was working with, and as  a guest I'd want to buy you thins you could use in the very near future and not worry about it not working for you when you finally get to move in ya know?
