Amazon.com Registry?

Has anyone used the amazon.com registry? Thoughts on this since there is no storefront? We have a Crate and Barrel registry and are creating a honeymoon registry... contemplating Amazon as the third.  Looking for opinions?!Thanks!

Re: Amazon.com Registry?

  • one major plus with Amazon is the ability to do a "universal registry".  One of the other knotties mentioned it recently - you can get the info in the Amazon help section.  Basically it lets you add a link to your toolbar, then when you're on Sears website, you can add stuff from there to your Amazon registry.  I didn't want to do a Sears registry, but really want a microwave and wine cellar from them, this way I can do it and the other odd things FI wants that aren't carried by the stores we're currently registered at (BB&B and C&B).
  • I didn't use Amazon but I have purchased from it before.  From the guest's standpoint, I loved it!  It was easy to do (especially if you are already familiar with Amazon shopping) and you can register for lots of cool stuff!
  • Thanks ladies!
  • We did an amazon registry and thought it worked well.  We did it so we could register for some nontraditional items like drill, saw, shopvac, etc. not available in our other stores, Macy's and Crate and Barrel.  We thought that it would appeal to people our age since people are all comfortable using it - also free super saver shipping is a huge plus.  There were several identical items that we registered for on amazon that were substantially cheaper than Macy's.  We probably registered for 30 things and had about 20 of them bought.  Worked well for kitchen accessories, as people just added a $3 this or that in with a larger gift.
