Has anyone ever made a custom bridal registry??

I heard that you can make your own registry for your bridal shower and not have to stick to one store. For instance, people can give you gift certificates for manicure, pedicure, massage, hair, etc. Has anyone done this? Or know anyone who has? Where do you sign up?

Asking for gift certificates, IMO, is really tacky.  It is the equivalent of asking for money.Registries are intended to help a couple set up their home together, not so that the bride can get manicures.
