Fifty Flowers

Has anyone ever used this site for DIY wedding flowers?  We're throwing our rehearsal dinner and I wanted to do centerpieces that didn't cost too much and were pretty easy-- just cut the stems, throw in the vase and go.  Has anyone ever used them for centerpieces for anything?  Any other suggestions?  Thanks!

I don't have any expierence with them. I've just browsed.

I'm not sure if they are open again yet, but a former knottie ( Jay&Marissa) used Farms To Go and had good reviews about it.

Have you looked at Costco or Sam's Club?

They have bouquet bunches that are affordable in store and to order online. I had seriously thought about doing this for my wedding because I wasn't picky about flowers. I went with a florist instead.

Thanks!  I looked at Sam's and their centerpieces were like $250 for 6!  Whereas at Fifty Flowers I can get 12 small ones for $150.  Farms to Go's website looks down... darn!  We hired a florist for the wedding itself but I figured, RD flowers aren't too important.  I'd just get supermarket ones but I don't want to worry about putting them together the day before.

Oh yeah, their website has been down for a long time. I want to say Marissa's wedding was last June and it went offline the week of her wedding.

Yeah, I totally understand about not wanting to fussy with them. I'd try it out. $150 isn't to bad I don't think :)

    Check out weddingwire.com for reviews!

I did the flowers for a friends rehearsal dinner and got them at a local grocery store where they had a 2 dozen for $20 special. Cost me $40 for really pretty roses for 4 tables! And when I told the lady what I was doing she got me fresh closed buds from the back and let me choose. We put them together the night before with simple vases from Michaels with coupons. By the next day they had opened. Another trick is to get shorter vases so you can trim the roses above the thorns and leaves and you don't have to worry about de-thorning and stuff.

So I would check out your local store to see what they have.

    Good luck!

Sorry--just read that you didn't want to put it together yourself! Ignore my post. :) Or see if one of your BM wants the task? I did it as my wedding gift.

Thanks for the advice Jen! If I weren't negative crafty/having to work right up until the wedding, I'd totally take your advice. :)

If you are wanting to go this route, I would suggest Costco. They have 2 dozen roses for $16.99 and other garden bunch bouquets for $8.99. We did this for our engagement party and they were beautiful and classic. We used square votives, cut the roses down, added water, and viola! Super easy and super cheap (without <em>looking</em> cheap). We put 5 or 6 roses per votive.
They looked similar to this: <a href="http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.roseofsharonflorist.com/images/misc/1300.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.roseofsharonflorist.com/catalogue/season_winter.html&usg=__JuCrGUT3GHubcdmCygYRm_R3rsI=&h=300&w=300&sz=26&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=6glRGZ4Vmbq9vM:&tbnh=116&tbnw=116&ei=9tDWTfeAGIKWsgOvm5CxBw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsmall%2Brose%2Barrangement%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1T4SNNT_en___US399%26biw%3D1345%26bih%3D519%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=95&sqi=2&page=1&ndsp=27&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0&tx=62&ty=65" target="_blank">clicky</a>

Lol. Another idea I might do is by potted orchids so people can take them after. No mess, no fuss. :)
