BBB question

I was just looking at my registry.  Apparently items were bought that said I requested "0" but someone bought it for me.  Now I have two toasters and two ice cream scoops and some watch holder that I didn't even register for.Can anyone please explain what this is??

Re: BBB question

  • If someone buys you something that's not on your registry and they scan your registry at the store when they check out, those items will show up on your registry as 0 requested X purchased. FMIL bought us some towels we didn't register for and they showed up on our registry that way. It could be that someone bought you something off the registry, and then one or some of those items for themselves, and when they scanned the registry it all went on there.
  • I had that happen once on my Crate & Barrel registry. FI and I were at the store later and asked about it, and it turned out there was another bride with my name listed and somehow the salesperson must have pulled up the wrong registry. The gift buyer had purchased the gift in store and taken it with them, so luckily it wasn't a case where the item would be shipped to me or anything. It was definitely weird because it was showing up as "Requested - 0; Has - 1"

  • If someone buys something not on your registry in the same transaction as items they are buying off your registry it will show up as "requested 0" and "received x." Don't assume these gifts are for you.  I often times go to BBB for more than one thing when shopping for wedding gifts and sometimes forget to tell them that they aren't all part of the registry. If you do end up getting something that you don't want/can't use, just return it.
