Ikea

Last night my fiance and I discovered that Ikea does not have a gift registry. It was the one place we really had our hearts set on registering at. Does anyone have any tips or advice on what to do or where to register?

Thankyou!

Re: Ikea

  • Thank your lucky stars!  Ikea doesn't make products that last.  I registered at Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Williams Sonoma.  BB&B was my absolute favorite, because they had the best return policy, and they have a lifetime guarantee on all of their products.  They will exchange it with no questions asked.

  • You could register on Amazon and use the universal registry feature, which lets you add items from any store.

There's also myregistry.com, which is essentially just a universal registry.

  • I've heard BB&B has a great return policy and registry. We didn't register there because I dislike the store - I feel like there are way too many options and too much going on in there (I'm too indecisive!).

We LOVED our Crate and Barrel registry. Quality products, decent prices for what you get, and very user-friendly online and in-store. Their website allows for user reviews so you can tell which products are hits and which are not so great.

We also did Macy's and Pampered Chef online.

  • BB&B has changed their return policy. It isn't any different from anywhere else now. No receipt and you get store credit. And if you only have the packing slip because an item was shipped to you (and the packing slip says to bring it to the store with the item for a return since it's the receipt) you still get store credit.

  • Actually - I returned several bridal shower registry items to BB&B two weekends ago and got a fat wad of cash.  I actually did want store credit, but the gal had already run it up as a cash return.
