Should I bother registering?

My finance and I  are having a small wedding, about 33 guests and 10 of them are children.  I did start a registry, but I feel weird about putting it out there since this is a small crowd.  We don't really need anything, there is about 20 items on the registry and most are under $20.

So I guess what I am asking is, do I put it out there so if anybody feels like they need to bring something has something to go off of, or forget it because it's such a small crowd?

Re: Should I bother registering?

  • You don't need to do anything to make your registry known.  I think it's fine to create a small registry like you have done, and then if people ask where you're registered, you can tell them.
  • What Jessica said. I mean, even if your guest list was 500 people, you wouldn't be advertising your registry anyway. So if people ask, it's ok to let them know where you're registered, and just leave it at that.

  • Ok thanks!  I will keep the registry so it will be available and only mention it if somebody asks.
  • Cortney keep in mind that the registry is traditionally used to buy gifts for the bride and groom up to a year after the wedding....so you can use this as a wishlist for the post-wedding stuff that you and your groom will need. :)

  • Ditto misstomrstodr, people will also get you items you wanted off your registry for gifts around your birthday and the holidays.  I'm already getting some items off of my registry for Christmas even though the wedding isn't until April.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • A registry isn't required for a wedding.  I agree with PP, if someone asks, tell them.  A small one is nice for those who would rather bring a gift than money and a card.
  • I'd keep it.  I'm sure as time passes you'll think of more things you need to add to it - or at least that is what has happened to us.
