Hey ladies, I saw a similar post on here about people who didn't receive gifts and sending TY notes but this is slightly different...
In this instance, we had some relatively close family members (3 families) decline the wedding due to a conflict with one of the children in that family. 2 of the 3 also declined my shower but all 3 went in an a shower gift. Fast forward and we received cards and gifts from 2 of the 3 families for the actual wedding. From the third, nothing. I'm not complaining here but given our history with them - sending Christmas cards to us and having sent a shower gift, etc - I'm a little surprised that they wouldn't have sent at least a little something or a card. If they did send something and it got lost in the mail or what have you, then its a sticky situation because I have no idea and no reason to otherwise send a TY since they didn't attend.
We'll definitely see these people over the holidays but I certainly would never ASK. But I also don't want it to be awkward if they were expecting a TY for a gift I never received. If they didn't send anything then that's that, but I'll never know...
Thoughts? What have others done in this situation? Anything or nothing?
