Confused.com

I am looking to see whether I can put a link where guests that are unable to attendon the day can send a money gift via paypal. Please help if you know if this is possible??????????????????????? Thanks.

Re: Confused.com

  • Is this a joke?!

You never ask people for cash gifts. People find these requests offensive.
If someone wants to give you a cash gift, they will give it without you asking for it. People are not stupid they can buy a card and put a check in it to give to you.

  • WHY would you ask your guests for money as gifts?? Rude. Please just spread the word that you are saving up for a house, etc.

Well, this account will be for those guests who can't attend, but still want to give a gift. So it's totally different.

  • If people want to send you a gift they can send cash or a check, no need for the paypal account, holy trashiness!
  • Ugh.  Just ugh.

  • honeyfund will link your registry to your paypal account (if the acount is a certain type of paypal account) and you should be able to link to your honeyfund registry from your website.

  • Totally unrelated, but I saw the title of this post and thought it was referring to a stupid UK insurance website that has THE MOST ANNOYING commercials on the face of the planet.

    This is worse.

OP - don't do it, it's tacky. People will send you checks.

Actually, she didn't say anything about a honeymoon registry.  What she's trying to do is solicit cash from guests who won't be attending the wedding.  Trashy and rude indeed.

Sunshine - posters come on here fairly frequently under an assumed identity just to post crap like this and try to stir the pot.  Let's see, it's her first post, it is beyond the most dreadful etiquette I can remember and.......she has never returned.  Those are the hallmarks of a troll.
  • Why would you have to set up anything?  If they can;t go don't you think they can just mail you a check and if they don't know your address they can ask you or someone else?
