Target

Is anyone else having huge problems with Target registries always making you reset your password when you log in?  It's to the point where I don't remember my password anymore.  It's very stressful and I'm considering deleting the account.
Any suggestions?

Re: Target

  • My Target registry had been nothing but trouble.  It woun't load half the time.  It's no wonder no one had bought anything off of it.

  • Target is terrible, IMO. We deleted ours a few days after we did it because of all the problems we had. Since then, I've seen so many negative posts about Target, so if you can avoid it registering there, I would!

  • Target also has the worst return policies, even for items from a wedding registry. Unless they've changed their policy VERY recently, you can only return a couple of itmes PER YEAR.  So if you get a lot of things for your wedding that you don't want, you'll only be able to return a few (I think it is either 3 a year or 5 a year) and that includes any other returns you've made for non-wedding things during that year.
  • I've never heard of that part of the return policy.  I return things there all the time and I've never had a problem.  I don't know how they'd be able to keep track of that either.  Interesting information though if still valid so thanks!

I'm done with the registry but I just need to be able to keep track of who bought what and update it if people buy things and don't update the registry.  It's very, very annoying.  I'll tough it out only because Target and Kohl's are the only two stores my family has easy access to.  I also registered at BB&B but there isn't one in the town where I'm from and that's where I'd transfer most of the stuff from Target to.  Thanks for the support and letting me know I'm not the only one!

Where is that written? I just looked at the Target return policy for both regular items & for gift registry items & don't see it. The closest I see is the sentence stating that if you don't have a receipt for the item, you can print out your gift registry & use that as proof to return a limited # of items. <div>
</div><div>That's understandable. They sell items that many other stores sell too. If you don't have a receipt (why would someone not give you a gift receipt), then they can't just be accepting everything.</div><div>
    </div><div>Here is where I got that from. (<a href="http://www.target.com/HelpContent?help=/sites/html/TargetOnline/help/returns_and_refunds/registry_return_policy/registry_return_policy.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">LINK</a>)</div><div>
</div><div>I've also had some issues with the Target website, but it's not so bad (to me) to make me delete my registry. I like the items there more than I dislike their website.</div>
  • The website moves really slowly, I thought it was my computer, but it doesn't matter if I'm at home or work. But I'm hesistant to delete my account because Target has more of what I want than Macys or Crate & Barrell and its closest to alot of my guests (I also have a BBB registry with a lot more stuff on it). We'll see what happens. Can people get a copy of your registry from the store or do they have to look at it at home?
  • I know that you can print the Target registry either at home or at the store. I usually print in the store just to make sure I have the most recent version of the list.
I'm just getting ready to register - I'm a little behind on my planning.

My plan is to register at both Target and BB&B... I figure both stores have online shopping options and are also pretty easily avialable for in person shopping and both have a variety of price options for different items.

I know that the Target website has been super slow since their last re-vamp... so i'm sure that's rolling into the regsitry stuff as much as it is everything else.

We had a target registry and heard from multiple people that they are:

    1. Horrible at actually scanning the registry to show that the items have been bought, and

    2. Once you have duplicates of items b/c they didn't scan your registry, they will only offer you a sale or discounted price when you try to return them later

Of course, it could be a huge problem in some areas and in other stores not a problem at all, but I didn't want to risk it. I didn't have any problems with the password when I had it, but with all the other problems I'd heard about I just said forget it. Bed Bath and Beyond's prices are pretty much the same anyway, and are sometimes cheaper with the 20% coupons they offer.
