Registry not being updated?

Has anyone had problems with their online registries not being updated? (The problems seem to be C&B and Williams-Sonoma.) This doens't seem to be a case of people buying things independently of the registry that just happen to be on it. I know they've actually looked at the registry and bought things that had been fulfilled for weeks. And I had my shower last night and several things I received have not been checked off!

If you've had this problem, what have you done, other than taken those already bought items off your registry.

  • You should be able to call the store or call their registry toll-free number and tell them that you've received a gift from your registry and ask them to mark it "fulfilled" or "complete" (or whatever the category is called).  I know with BB&B, if that happens, like the customer forgot to hand the copy of the registry to the cashier to scan, it's super-easy to call the 1800 number or do an online chat and they resolve it within 24 hours. 

    It does happen from time to time -- the cashier could have entered the information with the wrong key sequence so the registry didn't "take" when they were trying to scan it, the customer didn't hand over the copy of the registry, or better yet, a glitch within the computer system.  Ah well, computers are only as good as we humans can make them!!
