Registering for a honeymoon fund?

My fiance and I travel all over the US for his job(& while I finish school) and currently live in a fifth wheel so we don't really need a lot of stuff..We were thinking of registering just for a honeymoon fund but I didn't know if that was  proper registry etiquette?

Asking for money is never proper etiquette.

ETA: You may also want to check out the "Thinking of a Honeymoon Registry" sticky at the top of the page.

Thank you and duh to myself because I didn't even see that! lol
  • Honeymoon and cash registries are poor etiquette.

Since you are mobile, perhaps you would do best to just skip the registry, and let people take the hint to give you cash.
  • If you want cash (honeymoon registries usually take a cut and that sucks and is pretty deceptive because a lot of guests won't know this), make a very small registry - maybe some towels, sheets, etc that are easy to move.  Guests will get the hint, and you'll get the cash without having to wait for a check from a honeymoon company minus fees.

  • We registerd for Disneyland Honeymoon. If people would like to buy a gift card for us from there we are ok with that. Otherwise its no big deal if we dont get it.

  • What if you register for different honeymoon things like plane tickets or gift certificates to restaurants or whatever using the amazon website?
