I really don't want a wedding shower (let alone several!)
We're having a low-key wedding, not planning on registering anywhere, have both lived on our own so have doubles of anything we need, AND our jobs are going to have us travelling around for the next 5-10 years so we don't want to be packing tons of unnecessary things (and risk having good-quality things broken in a move). I am also a person who does not like a lot of clutter. Despite expressing ALL of these reasons to parents/friends, people are still insisting on throwing showers. Am i being rude/selfish to decline? I feel they're being rude by not respecting my wishes.
