Macy's - Buy one get one free deals

For those of you registered at Macy's, I was wondering if you experienced any confusion with the buy one (or buy two) get one free deals. 

They had these deals for our china and silverware and I am wondering if the registry updates the quantity purchased plus the quantity of free items the guests get. I am afraid that instead of the 14 place settings I wanted, I will get something crazy like 20 the day of my shower (this Sunday). 

Did anyone have a problem with this???

    I think it updates automatically.  But if I'm wrong, just return any extras you get for store credit.

    I recently bought a couple 2 place settings in a buy one get one free deal, and I had to call the registry dept at Macy's to have them update the registry to reflect two were purchased.  When I purchased it online, only 1 showed that it was a registry item. 

    Don't stress about it--Macy's is very good about returns in the event you get more than you wanted, or you could always keep a few extra place settings just in case.

    ahhh I registered for extra place settings. I really don't want to end up with double the amount. That would mean that I would be receiving 28! Almost everything else has been purchased from my registry so I don't know what I would do with all that store credit... I guess I could buy something pretty for myself but I'd much rather get the money and use it to buy items off my Crate & Barrel registry which has been neglected so far... It was smart of you to call Macy's and have them update it. 

    We'll see what happens at my shower this Sunda.

    It's possible that your guests called like I did and you won't get 28 place settings.  Even if you end up with 28, you can return them for Macy's credit and save it for clothes, bedding, little extras, wedding gifts for others--you'll spend it.  No sense worrying over it now.

    Maybe people buy place settings for showers in New Jersey, but that's not particularly common in my region.  If they haven't been bought yet I wouldn't stress about it.  And jessicabessica is right - you'll spend it if you get any leftover.
