My mom and aunt are planning my bridal shower for me and need me and the fiance to be registered by Sept 1st.
We haven't given this too much thought (and he's been gone for over a month- just got back last Fri) and we don't know which way to go with this.
We have guests from Chicago, New York, and Florida so if we register, it's got to be with larger stores (no problem there)
Right now, we live in a small apartment and probably won't be in a house for another year after the wedding (aka storage issues)
My mom is pretty insistent that we should register for china and glasses, but my issue is, we don't host parties for 12 and we don't have a dining room. I know a lot of the older guests will probably opt to gift that as it's more traditional, but we were thinking of registering at places like Kohls and Target for things we were actually going to use.
We could register at Macy's to appease mom and other expectations, but I'm not sold on having a china set, especially one that won't get used for a year until we have a house.
I'm not opposed to registering at Macy's (it's in all 3 states) but i was wondering if anyone else had come across situations like this, or if there were creative alternatives.
