Canadian brides- where should we register?

So FH and I will probably be setting up our registry in the very near future, and we're curious about which stores have the best service when it comes to this sort of thing.  I think we pretty much have it narrowed to Sears, HBC (Home Outfitters and the Bay), and Bed Bath and Beyond.  [Most likely it will be either Sears or HBC, because BB&B are not all that common on the east coast where our families live and where FH and I are getting married]>

I'd love to get some opinions, especially if you've had experience using any of these registries.  And- if you have any other suggestions for stores with good wedding registries, I'd love to hear them :)

Re: Canadian brides- where should we register?

  • Your planner says your wedding isn't until August of 2013.  It is probably too early to registering at this point.  Stores often discontinue items in waves 2-3 times a year.  You don't want to select a cookware set or a bedding set and then have it discontinued and have to pick a new one (and this could happen several times!).

    Happy Planning!

  • We registered at The Bay.  They have been very good so far and their online site makes it quite easy to add/delete items.

That being said, I so wish we had Crate and Barrel up here....I love their stuff!

  • We've registered pretty far in advance, because we have A LOT of other stuff going on and at least wanted to get the ball rolling. We're registered at Zone (I think only in Quebec) for smaller items, The Bay (china and a few other things), and Linen Chest (flatware, stemware and a whole bunch of other stuff). I am not overly impressed with the Bay's customer service, but the online options are good. Linen Chest doesn't operate their registry online (guests can view it and purchase online or by phone, though), but their service has been GREAT!
