Hi there, this is my first post so please be gentle, hehe

I've been living with roommates, then on my own since finishing university 5 years ago. Last year when my FI and I moved in together we kept only the best of our stuff when we combined households. Rencetly, we moved out of our hometown and did a major purge to fit everything into our much smaller apartment. There are a few things I can think of to register for as upgrades for things suffering from wear and tear (pots and pans, everyday plate settings), but most of the things we'd like to register for (China, formal glass wear, camping stuff) we have NO room for until we buy a house.
He's convinced we should just register for a honeymoon fund but I know that while most of our friends think it's an excellent solution, most of our family will find that tacky/rude and want to get us actual gifts. I just think giving all those thoughtful gifts away to charity is equally rude as we have no where to put them. We can't even leave them at our parents as both sets are looking to sell their empty nests in the next couple of years.
Help!
