Adding another registry?

So FI and I don't plan to register until March or so, but we are going to BB&B and Belk. Belk for the china/flatware/etc, BB&B for everything else. But I saw that some people have registered at REI for camping/outdorr items. I'm wondering if it would be okay to add a few things from there? It would probably only be about 10 items or so, but FI and I love to camp together and we could use a tent that is newer and better quality than one I got when I was 12. Also some camping chairs, maybe a double hammock, etc.

Does it sound gift grabby to add one small online registry for outdoor/camping or should we just stick with te traditional BB&B and Belk?

Re: Adding another registry?

  • I love REI, and I think it's fine to register there for a few items that are clearly for you two to use together (like you said, tent, hammock, camp chairs).   If i was your friend, I would totally buy you something from REI instead of boring sheets and dishes:-)

I don't think it's rude or gift-grabby.  People who you know well enough to invite to your wedding probably know that you guys like camping and would be happy to buy you a gift from there.

  • I think it's fine to add REI to your other two. Some people might even prefer to buy you a fun camping gift instead of traditional housewares and appreciate the guidance from an REI registry.
  • I'm totally going to put a few things from REI on a registry -- I think that's just fine!

  • Sounds great to me - maybe price check with Amazon too?  I don't camp, so I'm not super familiar with REI but Amazon may have better prices/may be a more ligical place for guests to check.

  • I think it would be acceptable.  If people don't see it fit to buy you those types of things, they won't.  It sounds like a fine plan to me.
  • Yay! Okay, thanks guys. I think this is something to do with the registry that FI will actually like/get on board with. lol
  • I agree with everyone else, it's totally fine to add a few things at REI.  I'm also registering at BBB and Belk and I encourage you to price compare for china/crystal.  The china I want was cheaper at BBB AND they have those wonderful 20% off coupons :)

<div>I'm wondering, SCogs, is the quality still good? I haven't been in to look myself yet. Also, FI is actually really excited about a camping registry. He wants to "browse" the website in the next couple of weeks to get ideas. =)</div>
