Registry deactivated!!!

Ok so I need some advice...

My fiance and I registered at BBB and Pampered Chef. I received an email from Pampered Chef yesterday saying that they are revamping their Wedding Registry site and will be deactivating the site as of June 15th. My wedding is July 7th!

My question is, what would you do? 1) Keep the registry at Pampered Chef and hope that people buy from there before the site is deactivated. 2) Cancel the registry and register somewhere else. Or 3) Cancel the registry and just keep the one at BBB (and maybe add to it)???

Thank you!!!

Re: Registry deactivated!!!

  • Unless your BBB is really sparse I'd leave things alone.  If guests don't get something from PC before the site goes down they'll just use BBB.

Also, what a horrifically bad business decision.
  • I'd keep it and register at a 3rd store depending on how many items you have on your BBB registry.

  • I agree wtih PP - keep it and register at a third place.  Not everybody is in love with BBB.

Agreed. PC would receive a very angry email from me if I was in your situation. I'd also close the registry and inform them that since they inconvenienced me so, I would not be bringing them business....but that's me.

Are you having any showers? Hopefully your showers will be early enough that guests to those can still use this registry. There is no way I'd buy a wedding gift over 2 weeks before the wedding though, so for me that registry would be useless unless you had a shower prior to that date.

  • Yeah, really poor decision to do that RIGHT In the middle of wedding season. I bet they'll regret it when they see their profit margins TANK for like 2 months.

  • I think I'm just going to keep the registry. I talked to my sister (MOH) and my parents, and have been assured that both of my bridal showers are before June 15th. So if should really only be a problem for the wedding. We will most likely also register at a 3rd place just in case :) Thanks for everyone input!!!

And I agree, poor business decision on PC's part! They should have done it in the winter instead of right in the middle of the busy wedding season!

I was thinking the exact same thing!  Bad idea BBB!  They obviously have not thought this through!

Honestly I'd be super pissed and delete my registry and register somewhere else.
