Anticipating a dilema in the near future. I was married 1 year ago, and my best high school friend was a bridesmaid. I bought her dress cause she couldn't afford it. Then, I said nothing when I didn't receive a card or gift for the shower/bachelorette party or wedding. I understood her situation. I also bought her a very nice bridesmaid gift. Now, she will be marrying into a wealthy family, and I don't feel I owe her an expensive gift. I am worried because she has already flipped out at me for not getting her a birthday card. I am not wealthy by any means, and I don't know what the proper thing to do in this case is. I am into fairness, and feel it's unfair of her to expect a gift from me when she couldn't even give me a card... Am I being selfish?
