I think the downtown location is small like only holds around 75. I know we've had Knotties use it but not sure if we have any current ones.
  • You're definitely better off emailing all these places to get current pricing.  The last Knottie to get married there was (I think) January 2011.

  • Definitely on the small side like Stephie said (75 to 100 max). I think the last time I checked, food ranged from 35-55 pp. Ceremony is an extra 950 and includes chairs last time I checked.
  • I just emailed them for information and they provided information about the space, the menus, etc but conveniently left out the part about the F&B minimum.

There is a fee for renting $2000.00 on a Saturday.  Includes chairs, linens, cushions, round tables, china, and votive candles.  The ceremony fee is 925.00 based on 100 guests.  You also have to pay for two security guards, 45 an hour.  The food costs seem reasonable, but it is hard to tell without knowing what the F&B minimum is.  She also told me they can't prepare a contract now for my fall 2013 wedding.....it is a long way off, but I haven't heard that from any other venues.

22% service change and 8.25 tax.

Having a 2,000 fee on top of a food and bev minimum, plus a 925 ceremony fee seemed HIGH to me.  Also, I was put off by the fact that they didn't provide the F&B min when I asked for it explicitly.  But that's all just me.  It is quite beautiful.

  • Oh, that's all for downtown.  I didn't know they had a McKinney location.

  • I'm having my wedding reception there in July, F&B minimum is $6,000, sometimes they are able to go down on that. I'm have 125 people and they can accomodate that including dance floor. I'm having plated dinner. Security guards are optional unless you are looking for outside ceremony in which case they are necessary to keep people from walking in during your wedding. It's my favorite place which is why I'm going with it, but it's typical to have a ceremony fee and reception fee no matter where you are. With Avanti the outdoor ceremony they have to order and set up the chairs. This was the most reasonable when I was looking at other places in downtown such as City Club, Tower Club, and a few others. I'm not sure what your budget it, but I guess your looking at around 9,000 for venue food and a bit of decor. One thing you'll want to consider is a lot of places similar to this you HAVE to use their preferred vendors. You do not have to do this with Avanti which will save you QUITE a bit of money as the preferred vendors I found for things like cake and photography are quite a bit more than you'd be able to find looking for something on a budget.

  • I am getting married at Avanti in October. We are having a really small wedding (50 ppl) so,the f&b minimum was insane to meet on a Saturday. We ended up going with a Sunday. The minimum then is around 5000. Amy does really try to work with what you want though. I believe the capacity in both the dining room & bar area combined is 125. I believe all together with rental, ceremony, and f&b we are around $8000. In my search for a venue, I found Avanti to be really reasonable, especially for something in Dallas and downtown. Some places I contacted had a minimum of 9000 which is difficult witha small guest list. Also, there are a few more things included at Avanti than others. You actually get a pick of linens, not just a couple colors. Parking is also included which can be challenging in downtown. And finally, it's a beautiful place!
