Is no registry rude?

For backround I am having a small DW. I wasn't planning on registering for it. My mom suggested putting something on the website like "Your presence is our present" or something along those lines. I know presents aren't to be expected, and I want people to know that I really just want them to be able to come and not at all worry about a gift. 

But, I've read that not doing a registery is rude. Is this true? Should I do a registery of just small things?

In your circumstances, 0 registry is not rude. Noting your lack of a registry on your web site would be rude, however. Instead, make no mention of gifts. When people ask about gifts/registry, say, "Having you with us is the best gift we could receive." If they press, either stand your ground or maybe have a few things you can tell them you want.

I agree with ElisabethJoanne. The only way I would put it on your website is if you absolutely can't get rid of the "registry" section.

Ya, its a wedding website that already had a registry section. I'll look at it to take it out or change it. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, do you know why its rude not to have a registry?

I don't know what wedding website you are using, but you should be able to delete pages or to rename them so you can use the registry page for something else. 

I don't think it's rude not to have a registry in any circumstances.  Guests might appreciate guidance if they want to get you a gift, but not providing that via a registry isn't rude.

</div><div>PP is right.  Don't mention gifts at all.  When people ask, just say that you don't need anything and just want them there.  But be prepared, as some people just can't handle the idea of going to a wedding without a gift.  You may end up with white elephants, cash, or random things that you love.  Gratiously accept anything anyone gives you.  </div>
