Gifts for Parents?

I know traditionally you buy thank you gifts for the wedding party members - are we expected to buy gifts for our parents as well?

I would especially if they have contributed to the wedding in any shape way or form (and since they are your parents and birthed you then I guess they have! lol).

We mostly got our parents gift cards to their favorite restaurant.  For his mother and my father we got a 2 picture frame, one side had a picture of us with them as a child the other side had a poem that will be replaced with a picture of their choice. 

I believe most girls on here say they get their parents an album or photo of choice.

I always think is good to give our parents gift as a sign of appreciation.  We got our moms personalized blanket with special note embroidered on it and fro our dad, pair of crystal glass also with special note engraved.
