Macy's vs. Amazon vs WS

I am registered at PB and BBB and wanted to do a third registry.  We were originally going to register at Target but after hearing negative reviews about their registry I decided against it.  Does anybody have any suggestions registering at Macys, WS or Amazon?  Any input would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

Re: Macy's vs. Amazon vs WS

  • We had a Macy's registry.  Returns and exchanges were super easy.  You also get 5% back total on all items guests purchase from Macys on a gift card after your wedding.  And if you have a Macys card and attach it to your registry account, you will get 10% back on your purchases until your wedding.  I ended up buying my longline bra from them and I buy clothes from them too, so all of that went towards the gift card we got in the end.  We did not have any problems with things we placed on the registry being out of stock or discountinued.
  • We registered at Macy's.  We were impressed with the quality of products, selection of products, and ease of registering.  I don't have experience with the other two, though.
  • I lopve to cook and am very picky about my equipment. so i am doing one at WS. However, it is only kitchen stuff. I think their goldtouch baking stuff is great value for a reasonable price, plus they have the specialty stuff I want-but there are no linens/towels/glassware, etc. It's just cooking equipment.
Also, I have several elderly guests who are not comfortable with online shopping, so Amazon is out.

We're doing Amazon for our third registry -- their universal registry button is really nice for putting miscellaneous things from different stores (a grill for FI, the anti-fatigue floor mat at Lowe's that's a third of the cost of the ones at BBB -- and bigger -- towels and allergy-barrier bedding set from Costco, Lodge cast iron, etc.).  I also used it for a few things I like from Pampered Chef (I have a friend who is a consultant, but I didn't want a PC "shower").

I have family members who really like Amazon, and the free-shipping-over-$25 is really nice (esp. for something like cast iron!).    Also, guests have the option to mark it "purchased" and then just get it at a "real" store (for example, there are Lodge outlets near some of my guests, so if they wanted to buy there, they could).

The only thing I'm cautious of with it is that returns could be more difficult than a brick-and-mortar store.

ETA -- We're putting our Target "likes" onto the Amazon registry, too.  I may create a "silent" registry in the store, too, for  the sake of the completion discount, but after reading (and experiencing!) problems with their system, I'm not sharing it.
