fiestaware

I really want to register for fiesta for everyday dinnerware, but seriously have no clue what colors to go with, I will probably do 4 colors, 4 place settings of each color. I am thinking the scarlet for sure so it can be used around the holidays and probably cobalt. What colors do you have/are getting?

Re: fiestaware

  • I rencently registered at Macys for fiestaware! I love the colors. We did Scarlet, Peacock, Marigold and another blue that I forget the name that looks like an aqua color. We are mixing them with Jardin by Espana dinnerware that is just so pretty and those are the colors that they look best with. I would definitely go with the scarlet! It is so beautiful and even if i wasn't mixing I would get this color. The light blue is nice to as well as the cobalt and the yellow. I don't love the orange it is so bright kind of makes my head hurt. That is why i like the marigold it is in between the yellow and the orange. It is retired but still widely available as they just stopped making it in 2012. Hope this helps...
  • I have the cobalt, turquoise, peacock and white.  I love my fiestaware.
  • We have scarlet, cobalt, tangerine, and marigold.  I highly recommend marigold or sunshine - they nice for serving pieces and blend with pretty much every other color they sell.  I was going gto get scarlet serving pieces but didn't want it to look like the 4th of july all the time when paired with cobalt.  Thing is, if you have scarlet, cobalt, and then one of the yellows you are entirely primary.  So that's why we chose orange as our fourth color - the plum would look nice as well.  If you choose green with those other three then it looks like preschool.

  • Oh and FYI - replacements.com sells a ton of fiesta, and they have full stock of all the colors even in the more obscure shapes.  FI and I love fiesta but the bowls are too big for cereal and the mugs have that weird handle, so we ordered some stacking bowls and java mugs from replacements.  They are hard to find in stock elsewhere, and replacements sells them for $8-$9 each.

They also have a deal right now that is free shipping over $150, and of course no tax unless you have them shipped to North Carolina.

We have just registered for the plates separately and a few serving pieces.

  • We actually registered for 10 settings, in 10 different colors.  Fiance's parents have a large variety of colors, and he grew up with everyone getting to pick their color come dinner time.  Plus I love rainbows.  So we registered for a rainbow of colors for the place setting, and a variety of colors in the add-ons, like the salt and pepper shakers and serving dishes.  I can't wait to have a technicolor dish collection.

  • We went with cobalt, turquoise, marigold, and paprika. We also have the gravy boat, butter dish, and salt and pepper shakers in ivory. I second the idea of replacements.com - I gave up trying to find some of the harder to find pieces in my colors (small platter, gravy boat, pedestal bowl) and just ordered from there. Our original registry was through Macys - their online selection is huge.

  • We also registered for fiesta. At first we wanted to do all cobalt. Then I started falling in love with having multiple colors, so we went to Macys and chose 3 that work well together. Ended up with peacock, flamingo and sunflower. I love the flamingo so essentially we picked two that worked with it. We only registered for 9 place settings, 3 of each, because we are currently in a small apartment. Figure that allows us room to add in a fourth color for 12 place settings. I am very excited!

  • I currently have shamrock, persimmon - retired :(, peacock, sunflower, and colbalt.  We added colbalt into the mix when we registered last year - I let H pick out the new color.  I really like flamingo and am tempted to get it, I only buy 2 place settings per color, but my cabinets are full as it is right now!  I hope to get another color when we move to a larger house!  I love my fiestaware!
  • Someone already mentioned Macys but I'll second that.  We had fiestaware on both BBB and Macy's registries and everything was getting bought from Macy's so we moved it all to that one.  They have a large selection and it's almost always on sale.
Our colors are cobalt, peacock, turquoise, marigold, tangerine, and scarlet.  Kind of a hot and cold combo.  I recommend going into the store and looking at the colors you're thinking of in person.  Originally I thought we just wanted two or three and we ended up with six but I think they look great.

  • I have one each of tangerine, scarlet, cobalt, turquoise, peacock, lemongrass, marigold, sunflower, paprika, and shamrock.  I love them all.

  • I love Fiestaware :) I think I'd eventually like one plate in every color, but for now we decided on the colors below - turquoise, shamrock, cobalt, and scarlet.  I chose them because I like any two of these colors together.  I also have a cream and sugar bowl set in marigold.  I bought all of my Fiesta from Kohl's.  I found that their sale prices rivaled Macy's, and I got an additional 30% off with my Kohl's charge.  Kohl's does not have a great selection in-store though, so if that is important to you, Macy's might be the way to go.

  • There is a Fiesta outlet just a few hours from where we live, so my in-laws got us around 10 plates for x-mas a few years ago. When we went to register for dinnerware, we decided to just add on to that. I tried to register for pieces to make it so we had 2 dinner plates, 1 salad plate and 1 ceral bowl in almost every color (except ivory, brown and flamingo), and then accent pieces in various colors. We have a 20-25 person holiday party every year, and I love using the plates as the pop of color on the table, and then just decorating with black and silver to make the plates stand out.

My favorite colors though are plum, turquoise, lemongrass and sunflower. I'm hoping to get up to the outlet this summer to see if I can find some of the retired colors. I LOVE the heather color, but it's so pricey on ebay and replacements, so I hope I can find it at the outlet!
  • I have chartreuse (retired, but similar to lemongrass), sunflower, tangerine, and have been slowly adding in some flamingo, although it's not a bright enough pink for my tastes. I registered for some turquoise and I really hope I get it!!
