kitchen appliances?

So I am wanting to register,a few things I would like are kitchen appliances. But I am a little torn between who makes the best.Any former brides who had the best coffeemaker, breadmaker, blender, mixer, etc and care to share who manufactured it? I am reading online reviews for all I can but its all mixed.KitchenAid seems nice(maybe a bit too expensive for me though)While I LOVE CuisinArt(again, not very cheap either).Hamilton Beach seems most reasonable but I can't find good reviews to convince me.Please help! thanks =)

Re: kitchen appliances?

  • For the coffee maker I suggest a Keurig.

  • Stand mixer - Kitchenaid or Cuisinart
Coffeemaker - I stand 100% by my Cuisinart Grind and Brew - LOVE LOVE LOVE it
    Blender - Kitchenaid or Oster
    Griddle - Cuisinart Griddler
    Food Processor - Cuisinart

Can't help on the breadmaker - I make mine by hand.

The prices might be more for these brands, but it's well worth it.  Plus, alot of people will go in together on an expensive present.  Just make sure to balance the registry with lower cost items and you'll be cool.

    Stand mixer--Cuisinart

    Food processor--Kitchen Aid

Blender--Magic Bullet (I've had it for a while, and all the different sizes are useful for us)

Breadmaker--Oster (we registered for a very fancy one, but it didn't work well for whole wheat bread, so we returned it and got the update of the old Oster that we had, the new one was around $60...the fancy but not useful one was around $200 from Macy's and had the option of doing two smaller breads at once)
  • Stand mixer and food processor - Kitchen Aid
    Blender - Magic Bullet
    Coffee Maker - Keurig
  • There was a stand mixer on Consumer Reports by Hamilton Beach that was actually rated quite well and was a "best buy/recommended" and it was quite a bit less than the KitchenAid.  The Cuisinart mixer, for the same price, has more power than the KitchenAid which will be important if you want to use a stand mixer for making bread dough.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • We have a Breadman bread maker and really like it.  It was $100-ish at Target.

Also, you should think about how easy these items are to clean when you are selecting applicance.  It was very important to DH that we get as much dishwasher-safe stuff as possible.  My mom used to have a coffee maker that had a separate section to grind the coffee beans, and she stopped using it because it was so hard to keep the grinder part clean.
  • i love my griddler- make sure to get the waffle pans for it tooand i love my tassimo-coffee pot. the only one resonably priced that steams milk and expresso!!

  • We put a KitchenAid on our registry thinking no one would ever get it for us. Then, at our engagement party, my whole family showed up with BB&B gift cards.  We waited for it to got on sale and were able to get it.  Our wedding isn't even until June, but we use it all the time and LOVE it!
