Need an appointment to start registry?

I think we are going to open registries at BBB and Sears this weekend.  Do we need to make an appointment, or can we just show up anytime?

Thanks!

Re: Need an appointment to start registry?

  • We just showed up at BB&B, and it was fine.  I think we went on a weekday, though.  It should be fine, but you could call today and see.
  • No, you don't need an appointment.  I just showed up too.
  • We just showed up at BB&B, and it wasn't a problem.  I started the registries online so I wouldn't have to fill out paperwork at the store.  So when we got there, they just looked us up and gave us the gun, it worked out really well.

  • Our BBB has a specific "wedding consultant" and I could tell that they were a little peeved at first that we walked in without and appointment with her. Basically, they want her (or him) to walk around with you and point to things you "should" register for. But it is a good idea to start your registry online (filling in your address, etc) and then go to the store.

  • Nope, we just walked in.  And BBB didn't follow us around.  If they start to follow you around and tell you what you HAVE to register for, tell them to piss off.  Though we did find the paper checklist they gave us to be very useful.

  • No you don't need an appointment. We just showed up at Target and BBB to register. But for Crate & Barrel we RSVP'd to one of their registry events where the store is not open to the public and they serve breakfasts and mimosas as you and your FI go around the store to scan stuff for your registry. HTH!
