My fiance have been together for 8 years and have lived together for almost 5 years. We have absolutely everything we need, and we do not want gifts for our wedding. I know I can't forbid anyone from bringing a gift, but I want to dissuade it.
I would like to make sure everyone that comes to our wedding (destination) knows that their presence is all the gift we want. What's the best way to get this message across politely? I know it can't be sent with the invitations!
We have also been batting around the idea of somehow letting people know that a donation to a charity we choose would be perfect if they simply must get us a gift. Has anyone ever done this, and if so, how did you get the word out?
