Consumer Reports?

Has anyone used Consumer Reports (either the magazine or their online site) to decide what brands to choose for your registry?

    I have, although I take that info and I still ask around, parents, friends, etc. based on all that I decide. Sometimes it is very helpful!

    I didn't, I mostly used recommendations from family and friends

    I love CR and I generally trust their reviews!  We signed up for an online subscription when we bought our house because we had to buy all new appliances.  I looked a little for recommendations on pots/pans and small appliances, but in general I just went with what I liked best after looking at them in store.
