Should we Register?

So, my FI and I have been together for years, lived together and we have 2 children. Should we register? We haven't sent out our invites yet, but we've had so many people ask where we are registered. My mother and grandmother said that I shouldn't because we've been together for so long and don't really need anything. They said that because they're rude and say stuff like that. But I don't disagree with that either. We don't really know what to do in this situation because really, we do have everything we need...what do you think?

I think you should register.  If anything a small one.  Otherwise you may end up with random gifts, and some guests may prefer to NOT give cash.  Living togethr for a long time doesn't mean you have everything you need by any means.  There are plenty of brides on here who register after living with their FI for years.

Thanks! We did create a small one, but were trying to decide what we should do before we told our guests. FI had said the same things about guests not giving cash. Thanks for your help!

Definitely register.  Many of your friends will want to get you something and this makes it much easier for them.
