My fiance and I are planning our wedding for next sept. We'll be having the ceremony in Amsterdam, The netherlands since we both live there. We'll then have the party in the US for all of our friends and family that could not make it. Thing is, it dawned on me today that if we do a normal regitry in the US we'd probably get too much and not be able to take it back to Amsterdam. Also we can't ask for electronics since the plugs are different in europe than in the US.I know I have a year to figure it out but I wonder what you all would to in my situation. I'd like to let my guests know that if they'd like to give us a gift to make it something small or cash but I'm not sure how to do it?...e-mail? send it in the invite? word of mouth? What would you do?
