I'm very upset about being pressured into registering and having a bridal shower. My fiance and I have been together for 6 years. We've lived together almost as long. Due to the economy and loss of jobs we've moved into his father's basement. We have an "apartment" of sorts but share other parts of the house. I'm not sure if by the time we reach our wedding date next August that we will have found a place affordable for us to live. I'm not comfortable registering for gifts when I have no where to place them or use them in the near future. I've begged my bridesmaids not to throw a shower for the simple reason I don't see the point of getting gifts that will have no home. Its a sensitive subject in our family. My fiance loves the idea of registering but sees the point that we have no place to store the objects. Am I being unreasonable? I feel like I'm going to lose out on some part of the bridal glory but I'm embrassed not to have a "home" of my own to display the gifts.
