I'm 28 years old and bought a house with my FI almost a year ago. By the time we are married we will have been living together for almost a year and half. With that being said I'm having second thoughts on having a wedding shower. I registered for a few things that we could use/upgrade, and also put on my wedding website that Home Depot Gift cards are appriciated because we did just buy a new house and we have to put new windows in etc. But I almost feel like showers should be for young brides who are just starting out and actually need all of these things. Dont get me wrong i'm not wealthy by any means, but we make do with what we got.
Then on top of this, my mother would like to invite all of my cousins to the wedding shower. This means we could have about 50 people at the shower. I dont think i'm registered for enough gifts if I have 50 people come. I would like to keep it around 30 or less if possible.
It's pretty bad when the wedding isn't stressing me out, it's the wedding shower that is!!! Help! any advise or just words of encouragement would be greatly appriciated.
