Still living at home

My fiance and I are still living with my parents and probably will be until after the wedding when we plan to buy a home. Is it appropriate to ask for gifts for a home that we don't have yet?

    That's actually the original idea behind shower and wedding gifts - to help the newly married couple set up their first home.  It sounds like you will need everything so treat your registry like a wish list, which is what it is, and have a great time with it.

    I would think it would be more helpful in your situation since you really don't have much of your own.  Then when you do have your own place you'll be all set
