Help! Don't know what to get my groom!

I have no idea what to get my groom as a wedding gift!! He already has my gift and has had it for awhile and from what my MOH says it is really nice and I will love it. No pressure here!! Any suggestions of unique items would be great! Thanks in advance!

Re: Help! Don't know what to get my groom!

  • My groom got ... me.  :-)

This isn't something that many of us can help you with.  What would you get him for accomplishing something awesome?  What is something he's always had his eye on?

My sister bought her husband a watch and had their wedding date engraved on it, which is a very common wedding gift to a groom, but I've also seen mention of guitars, surprise activities on the honeymoon, and even a PlayStation on here.
  • Yeah we talked about this and decided that exchanging expensive wedding rings was plenty.  We're going to get 100 other gifts from other people, and we actually thought that additional wedding gifts between the two of us might just get lost in the pile of everything else.

That said, if we had decided to go ahead and do it I would have bought him a watch.  He loves nice watches and doesn't often treat himself to one.

  • The 'problem' : with my fianc is that, while he absolutely loves watches, of he sees one he likes he just buys its. We do civil war reenacting but have a whole garage full of civil war crap.... Er, stuff that he is now starting to sell off. I'm stuck. I'm thinking about a watch but it has to be really good!!
  • When I say I would have bought him a nice watch, I mean I would have bought him a Longines or something similar.  Those are watches you pass down - not ones that you buy yourself and then toss after changing the battery a couple times.  We had it in our budget but just decided to save it for an anniversary at some point in the future.  I'm not really sure what the civil war reeinacting has to do with getting him a watch?  But yeah there are absolutely nice brands out there that he's unlikely to buy for himself because they are too expensive.  FI likes Simon Carter also, though it's a less expensive brand.

  • I got mine a beautiful framed print of our last name to hang in our new home from alphabetphotography.com.  He loved it, and it was worth every penny.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

[QUOTE]We're spending somewhere in the range of twelve to fifteen thousand dollars on our honeymoon. We decided that was our gift to each other. <strong>But I am planning on surprising him with a different piece of lingerie each morning on our HM</strong>.

<div>That's a good idea also.  On a similar note,  lot of girls do boudoir photos, and they tend to go over really well.  Only issue with that is that if other people know you are exchanging gifts (and that seems to be the case with you because you mentioned your MOH knows what your gift is) then they might want to see what you got him.</div>

  • We got each other the same gift. We found an absolute steal on a timeshare at the condo we got engaged at, and the same week we got engaged!!! So every year we get to go back :)
  • I got my DH the Sig Sauer 9mm he wanted. He sure was surprised...!!!!!

Aka, get him something he loves. It doesn't have to be a "keepsake".

Nothing says "love" like getting your future husband a handgun! :)  I think that's hysterical.<div>
</div><div>I'm getting my fiance something my best friend recently found in, of all places, a Sky Mall magazine while on a trip.  My fiance works as a baseball statistician and a sports writer so it's a frame print of a US map with soil from each major league baseball stadium in the country.  He's going to LOVE it.</div>
  • We decided to get each other something small and not to expensive as more of a token that we can have to remember our wedding day.  We currently each have a heart keychain wiht our names and the date we met engraved on them so I decided to get him a new keychain with our names and wedding date on it to replace the old one! I got it from personalcreations.com
