Wording on Shower Invitations?

We registered today (lots of fun!) but I noticed that many of the things I want are only available online because they are an off-color.  Should my aunt direct people towards shopping online by writing bedbathandbeyond.com on the invite, or simply stick with Bed, Bath, and Beyond?  There are plenty of items available in the store, but the stuff I really want ( like the toaster, blender, and mixer ) are only available online.  Any advice would be great!

Re: Wording on Shower Invitations?

  • I would just write the store name.  If people want to shop online, they will.  If they feel more comfortable shopping in the actual bricks and mortar version of the store, they will do this.  You will likely receive a fair amount of cash (if not at the shower, at the wedding) and you can buy your most desired items from online if your guests do not.

  • I agree, just write the store names. Most people would not buy online at BB&B if they have one a mile from where they live. OOT guests may buy online so they can just have it shipped to you. You might just have to buy some of your most-wanted items yourself after the wedding. We received a lot of cash and used a fraction of it for doing just that.
  • Thanks for the input ladies!  I will just put the store names.

  • Also when they print the registry at the store it will list all the items and note the ones that are only available online so if someone really wants to get you that they can go home and order it.

Don't forget that putting your registry info on the shower and wedding invites is super tacky and severely discouraged by etiquette. One thing I am doing with my invites is including a small card that says "for more info check out my wedding website at ____". Put your registry info on your website. Most people know that you can't have your registry info on your invites, so they know to check your website to get the info. If you have your page on the Knot it links directly to the store so people may very well end up shopping online for your gifts anyway!
