When to Register?

I wanted to see how many months before your 1st shower you should register?

People probably won't shop until a few weeks before your shower/wedding.  I didn't have a shower, and we registered about 4 months before the wedding.  The first item wasn't bought until about 3 weeks before the wedding.  A month after the wedding, some things are still being purchased.

We registered eight months before. The nice thing is that it's easy to change things around online, so if you go and register and then a month before your shower you decide you don't want something on there anymore (or you want to add something), it's a simple fix.

We registered 6 months before our wedding.

My wedding is in November and we just did our 1st registry last Sunday.  Next registry will be 19th of this month.  Shower won't be until October.
