Name change as gift to Spouse.. Lame?

So I was trying to think of a gift to get my FI as my wedding present to him and I couldn't really decide. I know that he really wants me to change my last name to his, but I was kind of opposed to the idea. Although now I'm warming up to the idea. 

Would it be a lame idea for my name change to be my gift to him? Or should I just buy him a watch?

I think that's absolutely the wrong reason to change your name.  It should be a decision you make for you, because you want to, and not as a "gift" to someone else.

Go with the watch.

If it's truly something you've decided you want to do then I think it would be a very good gift to him. But if you're only doing it as a gift to him, go with the watch.

i think if it's something you've decided you definitely want to do that's a great gift! you could write a nice note about why you love him and why you want to take his name.

as the other said, if you are only doing it for it to be a gift, don't do it. You can always change your name later. Get him something else. Maybe boudoir photos?

Since you've said this is something you've decided you want to do, I'd write a note explaining why you decided you wanted to change your name. But I'd also get the watch
