What do you get the parents as gifts?

So what do you get the parents as a thank you gift?

Re: What do you get the parents as gifts?

  • We just figured out this one a few minutes ago.  Both my parents are deceased and I don't know his parents all that well but his mom said something today that struck a chord with me.  We had a nice snowfall (after horrific tornadoes 2 days prior) and her cameras were all without film so she couldn't photograph the scene.  *ding ding ding* We are getting his parents a moderate range digital camera and a digital photo frame.
  • As an add on to this...do you get the parent's gifts if you are fully funding your own wedding?

We are planning on doing photo books of wedding pictures as Christmas gifts, but I was under the impression that the "parents gifts" are the B&G's way of thanking them for hosting the wedding...

  • I have heard that parents gifts are a thank you for contributing to the wedding and supporting you both. So either way it is a nice jesture to your parents, but does not need to be pricey. I am getting my parents a hankerchief with a heartfelt saying on it and a nice card. Same for FI mom. Not sure about FI dad and stepmom yet.

I think an album from the wedding is pretty expected from most parents. But maybe a nice frame for them to put a wedding picture in after.
