Bach party

Sooo we were wanting to do a girls weekend in south padre for the bach party.  Anyone have a good recommendation of a abeach house thats not too expensive?  Like no more than 250 a night?

South Padre will be in it's busy season soon, and sadly, you aren't going to find a condo/beach house for that low during that time.  That being said, there are several hotels that could work.

    Try this just in case:

Also, while SPI sounds fun, take it from me - there isn't THAT much to do there and the food/drinks are "meh" at best after the bad hurricane season wiped out a lot of things.  For the time it takes to drive down there (12 or so hours from DFW) and the cost of gas (especially in the Valley), it might be cheaper to go to FL or CA for a real beach :P  (My expertise?  I grew up on the island during the summer as my fam owns 2 condos.)

I did a search on VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner), and this is what came up:

It looks like there are a few choices that may be within your price range. Good luck!

I second VRBO.  I found a great deal on a four-bedroom condo in Biloxi, MS there.

Not sure if you considered this, but I'm going on a 5 day cruise for 380 per person after taxes in May. It's more expensive than your budget per night, but it includes food and fun. You have to pay for alcohol, which some can be smuggled. ;) Depending on when you go, it can be pretty cheap. It's cheap in early May then starts getting expensive all summer. Then it's cheap at the end of August, I believe.
Disclaimer: Please excuse the above comment. I'm probably freaking out because there is less than one month to go. Thank you.

Doing 80 or so, you can get to McAllen/Mission in around 9-11 hours (depending on stops.)  San Marcos is on the way - Hello Outlets! - so you may want to stop there.  Once you hit McAllen, you will want to gas up and then make the hour or so drive to  the island.  If you come in around sunset, you may get stopped while the bridge is up for the shrimpers to come back in.
