How many soon-to-be brides out there constantly check their registries?

This is more of a fun post. When I first started registering, I hated it. I was so overwhlemed and couldn't figure out which items were worth getting the higher-end models and which ones the salesman was just trying to upsell. Plus, I had no idea how I wanted to decorate our place, so I was stressed about figuring our decorative items and colors. Now, however, I love it, and I find myself going online and checking my registry all the time! I really want to be surprised by the gifts, but the temptation to check is so great :) I have really tried to only check the "number" of gifts purchased, but I've also "accidentally" seen a few of the gifts too ;-)

Are any other brides out there with me? Do you check all the time? If so, do you check the actual gifts you're getting, too? Or do most brides not check it again once they've put their registries together?

I hope there are at least a few like me so I can feel a little less psycho :)

  • I don't check now, with a shower coming up, because I want to be surprised.

Actually, I take that back.  I check and immediately sort by what's remaining, so I know if there are a decent number of reasonably-priced options left.

I do the same thing! Actually, I do what hlq said and filter by items remaining. However, that's backfired on me because I have at times figured out what items were purchased by process of elimination. And at Crate & Barrel, I tried sorting by items remaining, but didn't realize that they still list what was purchased at the bottom of the page- so I scrolled all the way down not knowing it would be there (at BB&B, when you filter by items remaining, they make it so that you can't see what was already purchased). But yeah I'm excited and keep checking- but then I get mad at myself because I want to be surprised :)

  • I check all the time too! I can't help it.
  • I check, FI checks, it's just ridiculous!  Ha!  Good to know I am not the only one!

  • we are still in the "amending" phase.  Showers are months away so nothing has been bought.  We are worse about checking our friends' and cousins' registries!  We want to know what they are asking for and what they're actually getting.  We keep calling it "research" but really we're just plain nosey!  No one knows about our little hobby...
  • Oh, forgot to mention that FI checks the registry.  And because he knows I'm not, he's teasing me, asking if I want to know what I'm getting.  Pain-in-the-ass.

  • I'm a registry stalker.

My shower is in a few weeks so I check partially to be nosy but partially to see if I need to add anything else.

  • I stalk my registry multiple times per day. My wedding isn't till August and the shower isn't till July, but I really want to see what the first gift bought is! :)

I'm also updating the registry constantly when I hear about a new item I want or if something has bad reviews, I may replace it with something else.

  • I was stalking it but after I saw the first gift (and only gift thus far) purchased I've slowed down to maybe once a week.  I check it to see the # of gifts purchased not necessarily to look at what was purchased.  Although for the 1st gift I couldn't resist & had to check what it was.  Wedding is on 18 days away so gifts should start to be taken off the registry :).
  • i check every day lol

  • Mine are up in my browser as we speak...

I check multiple times a day... but I need to stop! My shower is the first week of June, and I won't be surprised at all!!
  • Ajroark, me too! I'm on a streak of updating the list all the time. I read reviews, think about what I could just buy for myself, what I really need, don't need, polling past brides about what they think... and my new thing is making sure that what I add to the registry is available in the store (many times, at least at BB&B, it's not!)
  • Karmellah, I feel compelled to tell you that you and I got engaged on the same day :) And your wedding date is my bachelorette party!

  • I defininitely check mine all the time now with 13 days to the wedding, with the excuse of making sure I don't need to add more gifts (our registry overall isn't that big or expensive for the # of invited guests).

It was actually slow going, but now I'm getting to see things purchased that I'm excited about. FI thinks it's silly, but I like it and I feel very little shame.

Also, we're expecing cash from a lot of family members (because that's their M.O. for these things) so the gifts aren't getting purchased that rapidly even given how close the wedding is.
