I am very fortunate because I have a bunch of loving and wonderful guests coming to my wedding. However, most of them live on fairly modest incomes (or are retired and living on savings). When creating my registry, my fiance and I included some large-ticket items, but I also made a point to include many under $25 gifts. I want to make sure that no guest is embarrassed because she/he has to show up without a gift.
On the other hand, my fiance has a number of more well-to-do relatives who are puzzled by the size of the registry and have suggested adding more expensive items. I have told me fiance that I am uncomfortable putting $300 gifts on the registry when $30 will be a strech for some of my guests.
Because he is quite wonderful, he understands and plans to privately tell his family members about the more expensive items.
So, now to the question. I am concerned that I am making things difficult for his family by not registering "officially" for those gifts. Any thoughts or other solutions would be very much appreciated!
