problem with registry online? would you switch stores?

Did anyone register at boscovs? How did it go?  I'm having an issue with the registry online and wondering if i should switch stores.

I registered there last week because I was a bit annoyed at Macys the time and they have a lot of similar items, and they had a good incentive program.  But now I'm having a problem with the website.  As a guest, when you finally find the registry (the webstie seems very quirky) it only lists the products regular prices - not the current sale prices!  Which means, someone might just pass over a product thinking it's way too much, when really it's much cheaper.  Of course, this upsets me.  For instance, I have a piece of luggage on there that I really hope to get that's regular price 250$, on sale for under 100$.  If a guests sees $250 they'll probably think "wow she's crazy" and pass over it.  But really, it's a decent price.  I've written to boscovs about this too.  Assuming this is "just the way it is" with them, would you keep your registry there or switch to macy's? 

Aside from this I'm also having issues adding/deleting from the registry online and my  mom flipped out that she couldn't find the registry and had issues with it herself as a guest.

  • I don't want to sound irrational, however, managing a registry on-line and shopping on-line is kind of a big deal. If you aren't getting help from your registry consultant, I would switch. I'm a huge fan of Macy's and love the stuff they have. Plus you can enroll in the program and get gift cards for a certian percent of what was bought off your registry. If you can't work it out with the store you are registered at very soon, switch!

    ohhhh macys has this too?!!!  that's what i was excited about that boscovs had but if macys has it too maybe i should just switch!  thanks.
  • I'm not familiar with that store, but not having the current/sale price show up would be really annoying, and I would probably switch on that basis. 

    FYI--I think to get the gift cards from Macy's you have to have a Macy's card, but we got one when we set up our registry for this purpose. 
  • you know i just tried it again and it's all up there, the sale prices and everything, and it's quirky but i was able to add more items.  i think the site is just funky.  it makes me a little concerned if guests encounter this issue but if it works, i'm happy with the products they have and all that.  i guess i'll just randomly "test" it a few more times to see before i go through the trouble of changing everything (especially since my mom already started telling everyone where we are registered).
  • I have had problems with my registry at Target.  Items just disappear randomly, and even though we've only had the registry for two months, at least a dozen items are no longer available for purchase in-store.  A friend of mine is also registered at Target - so far she has received five sets of the same wine glasses - and her registry says she hasn't gotten any!  I would stay away from Target.
