Re: Thanks

  • First of all, your invitations should not include any registry info whatsoever. People will ask and you can tell them where you are registered, but putting it on the invite looks like all you want is gifts.

As far as where to send them, do you have a trusted realtive that would be willing to recieve and hold them for you? We had all our gifts sent to MIL's house because she was close to the wedding site and had some place to store them all until we could take them home.

Where do gifts get sent?:
[QUOTE]Thanks for trying. We are doing a destination wedding in Key West, only close family is invited and they ask me to include my registry info, that's why I did that. I should have clarified. We live in a different state and all shopping will be online, also the reason a family member's home can't be used. My work is close to the location of our new house, would this be okay? I get the mail there and have room to store things. Tell me what you think.

Thanks for being a bitch? Registry information doesn't belong in invitations no matter what your family says. If they want to know where you're registered you can just tell them. As long as people aren't seeing you with a bunch of wrapped gifts or opening the stuff at work, I think sending it there is fine, just like anything you might order for yourself online. I'm not sure it's a good idea to leave them sitting somewhere in the office for an extended period, if that's what you meant.

  • If these weren't wedding gifts but just things you were buying for yourself, would your order that many packages to be delivered to your work? If so, then it's fine. I don't know your work, I don't know if this would been seen as abusing the address or something totally normal.

And I still see no reason to include the words "registry information" on that card. It's rude, sorry. You could have said "Hotel info, maps and further information on our website" - people are pretty smart, they'll think to check the website for registry info.
  • Did you not actually read the rest of my post? I answered your question. But saying "thanks for trying" to somebody who gave you accurate information was exceptionally bitchy of you whether you were "just saying" or not.
