Money Orders?!

I posted this this morning but it looks like it got eaten by TK monster.

DH and I got 2 money orders as wedding presents. Neither one of us has any experience with them.  I didn't even know you could give a money order as a gift.  My question is how do I cash them? Can I go to a regular bank or do I have to go somewhere else.  Someone told me I had to go to the post office. Is that true? To complicate things more they are made out to me only in my married name.  Does that mean I can't cash them? Thanks for any help.

They work just like checks.  Just deposit it with the others.  As for it being to you only in your married name, bring a copy of your marriage certificate to the bank with you along with your current ID, and it should be fine.  

(The going to the post office thing is only for BUYING money orders, not cashing them.)

I can deposit them like a check to my bank - I've put them in an ATM before without a problem.
