Registering for Lingerie?

My MOH loves the idea of a lingerie shower for my bridal shower (I am having a seprate one for family so this one would involve just close friends). I really like the idea too, but I'm wondering a couple of things:

1. Do you register for lingerie and if so, where?
2. Is this tacky or bad etiquette?

I think most people just put sizes on the invites.  It's not tacky, a lot of people have lingerie showers.  Some people personally don't care for them, but it's not a faux pas or anything.

I personally wouldn't want a lingerie shower for myself (I'm kind of a private about this kind of stuff :-p), but I have been to one and it was kinda fun!  Have whoever is sending out the invites put your sizes on it.  Hopefully people will include a gift receipt in case what they give doesn't fit or isn't your style.  Don't register, though (where would someone even register for lingerie anyway?)

A friend of mine is having a lingerie shower this weekend and she just told me she registered at Macy's for it. I didn't even know they did that!

I had a very small one and my MOH, who hosted, printed my sizes on an insert in the invite. That's also the way it's been done for other friends' showers I've attended. The idea of registering for lingerie never occured to me though.

Also, no it's not tacky, it's just not some people's style.

Have MOH or the host put your sizes on invites... IMO, I think a registry would be weird. This topic has been discussed before and for those who may not feel comfortable buying anything risque, could go with buying you a nice rob or tank-top/shorts set...

Fredericks has wishlists but not sure if you can search it or need to email it to people. They also offer in store size cards for ALL items (bras, panties, chemise, babydolls, leggings ect)

I've never been to one nor had one myself but thought that most if bringing a gift to a bachelorette would bring something of that sort!

I LOVE the idea for a shower with friends but would be a bit uncomfortable with this at a shower with all my elderly relatives and my moms friends.

For the Seattle area you can only set up your lingerie registry at the Alderwood mall location, and then other stores in the area can call to check your registry. The other thing I've heard of, is that some of the lingerie boutiques will do after hours parties where you can rent out the store and bring in/pay for them to supply snacks and champange, so that may be another alternative.  HTH!

Yup, I went to a lingerie shower recently and the host of it just told all of us what the bride's sizes were. I wouldn't register for it.

Victoria's Secret might let you register. Otherwise I agree. Just give your sizes if you feel comfortable. So lucky though! I'd love to have a lingerie shower lol. That stuff gets pricey.

I had a lingerie shower with just my BMs right after the rehearsal dinner - it was a fun, private girls moment And a total surprise!

But registering? That is strange...never heard of that before!

I've heard of VS registries, but I don't think they do them anymore. Most of the showers I've been to just have sizes on the invites. One had the colors the groom preferred.
