Side-eye inducing?: Registry @ Macy's and W&S

Hi there-

I've already set up a registry at Macy's, and I was originally going to just have the registry there. After deciding that I want good knives on my registry, I've realized I'd also like to register at Williams and Sonoma--you can apparently try out knives there if you're registered, and get the best knives for you.

So my question: if someone had a registry at two stores like Macy's and Williams and Sonoma, would you give a side eye?  I worry that having one mid-range store (Macy's) and one high end store (W&S) would seem...I dunno...pretentious?

FWIW, my friends and family are mostly professional, middle class folk--think lots of teachers, government employees, et cetera. I also plan on having lots of items on the Macy's registry that are well under $50.

I wouldn't blink twice at someone who was registered at those stores... as long as you have all the price ranges covered, why worry about it?

No, I wouldn't worry about it.  Just make sure all budget ranges are represented

I'm registered at both stores, plus Bed Bath & Beyond.  I was surprised that most of my shower gifts came from WS.  All three stores are conveniently located to most of the guests, but I heard people just like shopping at WS best.  On the other hand, I have a friend who registered at WS, but only for knives and cookware (no variety in price ranges) and she didn't get much from that registry.  Look at their baking pans relatively inexpensive things like that.

Thanks for the feedback, ladies!  I'm keeping my registries at Macy's and WS, and will ensure there are lots of things at all price ranges.

Macy's and WS sounds fine. I give the side eye when people do C&B and WS.

<div>Really? I was thinking of registering at C&B, WS, and Macy's. Macy's for luggage, towels and linens, C&B for dishes and kitchen gadgets, and WS for cookware and knives. I plan to have all price ranges represented so hopefully this will be okay. </div>
