Magnolia Hotel Dallas

Hello,

Has anyone had or been to wedding here with the ceremony being in the Griffin room or outside? If so, how did it look and could it fit 100 people comfortably? If you have pictures that would be great. Ive searched and searched on the internt for pics but kept coming up with the same ones that really didnt show much. Thanks

Re: Magnolia Hotel Dallas

  • I just watched a video that "When it Clicks" made but I think the wedding was in the Pegasus room. Have you toured the site yet?

Hopefully some other knotties will chime in!
  • One of the Knotties got married there in February, so hopefully she will pop in.  I don't think her ceremony was in the room you are talking about.

The second floor reception space is so awesome, though.  My only concern is that the dance floor is small if you have a large group (I've been to two receptions -- at one, the dance floor was perfect for the guest list, at the other, the dance floor was way crowded).

hmmmm. I rent on a tour and she showed me the Pegasus Ballroom which is awesome and the outside area but not the inside area for ceremonies. I was unable to picture a ceremony in the outside area but then again im not creative so I wanted to see what it looked like in "ceremony mode" lol

  • I got married there in the Pegasus Ballroom, then we had our reception on the 2nd floor Club in the main hotel building. I am not familiar with the Griffin Room though.

FWIW I think I found the most "bang for my buck" for a Saturday reception at the Magnolia.

  • Loved the pics!  Was the pipe and drape super expensive?  I looked at the Magnolia last week and loved it, but also had some concerns about the ceremony space.

  • I think I paid $1200 total for the pipe & drape altar ($200) plus chairs with Linens ($4/chair). That pipe and drape was a lifesaver, after my florist had dead altar arrangements for me.

  • I'm getting married in October at the Magnolia.  We are using the outside space, and I actually went back and looked at it again a couple of weeks ago while it was being set up for a wedding, and it looked really nice outside.  They block off the valet parking and the street is not really that loud.  We are actually not planning on doing much decoration for outside and using the magnolia trees and backdrop for our decoration.  When we toured the inside space it seemed a little small and weirdly laid out.  They mentioned like the dance floor set up in a room off the main part and it seemed awkward and that people would have to scrunch in to see a first dance etc..

Wow!!! Just beautiful. I wonder if I had the ceremony in the pegasus ballroom and then wanted to switch it over to look like the reception howlong it would take? I will have 100 guests and 20 in the bridal party so I would not want it to be crowded if the ceremony areas they do have are too small.

Oh...... I wanted oct too. Did she say she have any oct saturday dates left? I told her I was thinking nov/oct but I wanted to check on the weather before deciding if the ceremony had to be outside.

My dance floor was in the corner of the Club Level (it was set up right outside of the Library Cove), and I don't think anyone had trouble seeing. The layout wasn't too awkward, but I definitely had a more loungey feel to it. We had 8 rounds around the parameter, which sat up to 64 people, so a majority of our guests had a fine view. We used the library to set the WP, which worked out great cause we got to see every guest in the buffet line as they came by our table.

We booked back in February so I don't know what dates Jessica might have available now.  She is really easy to contact via e-mail though and never seems bothered to answer my countless e-mails...ha...I don't remember seeing the Griffin room though I'm sure we did.  We just decided that the weather would have a good chance of being perfect in October so we went the outside route and then with the Pegasus ballroom.
