No Venue Yet - HELP!

So I am supposed to get married in March 2011 but I still haven't found a venue. I have looked online but haven't really done much of looking in person. I looked at Aristide in Mansfield in person.. it's really nice. Anyone have any suggestions? I kind of want to have the ceremony and reception in same place. 125 guests as an estimate.. It's overwhelming me.. and I find myself just putting it off.. lol. I live in Grand Prairie.. so anywhere in the mid cities/arlington, dallas market center hall area would be best.

I am such a procrastinator... I wanted House of Blues in Dallas, but the lady won't respond to me as how much the rental fee is. By the way the budget is.. well whatever it needs to be.. lol I just need a place that is nice..

Oh and I read reviews on Mediterreranean Villa in Arlington, and they are horrible.. which is sad because it looks like a nice place from the website!

You can take a look at the "Dallas Fort Worth Venue List" Sticky post at the top of the message board.  It outlines the venues everyone has used and costs, etc.

    Welcome and good luck!

    Well, first, welcome and congratulations!

You're still about 6 months out, so your venue may still be available (whichever one you choose).  I'm not sure if you're open to it, but having a Friday or Sunday wedding will definitely help you... planning and budget wise.

We're here to help you, so just ask!

If you like HOB you might like Gilley's... they were pretty budget friendly.

What about the Starlight Room in Dallas? Or that new one in Colleyville?

I toured the Villas-gorgeous! The Bridal Suites are tiny. I didn't like the idea that it would feel like you are rushed...so much time for this...and so much time for that. The LAST thing I want to do on my day is for someone to boss me around and rush me!

YWCA in Fort Worth is a beautiful venue and you can do the ceremony and reception in one location.

I agree with the other post as well, if you like HOB then Gilley's would be another budget friendly option. I had a friend get married at their "Loft" and they had the ceremony out on the balcony overlooking downtown dallas as the sun was setting and then the reception was right inside. It was a good time and she had about 160 people.

    Welcome brandichambers27!

We just put our deposit down on Aristide for next year.  The pros are that you get the WHOLE venue during the hours of your wedding and their preferred caterer (http://www.oliversfinefoods.com/) is pretty reasonably priced.  Plus since they are so new, they will likely have your date available.  Good luck!

I got married last week and we had our ceremony & reception at Los Vaqueros Restaurant (near the Fort Worth Stockyards) in their garden. It was super inexpensive (you just pay for the food, drinks, tip & tax). They were very easy to work with and I got nothing but compliments. The place is gorgeous!
